The Soap Box Derby is a youth racing program which has run nationally since 1934.World Championship finals are held each July at Derby Downs in Akron, Ohio. Soap Box Derby racing was brought back to Tallahassee in 2004 after being gone and sorely missed for many years.

The mission of the Tallahassee Region Soap Box Derby is to involve families together with children in the community to help build character, perseverance while building future leaders. Regardless of the outcome of the race, each child is a winner with memories to cherish the rest of their lives.

CHAMPIONS ARE CROWNED

The 2011 Tallahassee Region All American Soap Box Derby sponsored by Tallahassee Ford/Lincoln went off without a hitch. Some really good racing, very competitive race cars and heavy competition. The race kids had a great time at the race and at the banquet. The Tally Region Soap Box derby should be very proud of the day.

Two newcomers came out strong and should the veterans how is was done. A congratulations to Brian Campbell for winning the Stock Division and Taylor McKenzie for winning the Super Stock Division.

Looking forward to see them at the All American in July.

Also congratulations goes to Arryn Evans, Taylor Byers, Brandi Byers, Hunter Chentnik, and Meghan White for qualifying to the All American in the Rally Circuit.

Another great weekend of racing! Saturday and Sunday April 9th and 10th were the last races for the year until the local.

Everyone that wants to race in Tallahassee Region Soap Box Derby's annual All American Race needs to contact Neal for more information.

NDR Qualifier now complete. Excellent weekend had by all. Great field of cars, great racing and the weather was nice. A little work to the track and the kids finding new was to race on the track. Congratulations to the 9 kids that are now qualified for the NDR Nationals in July at Akron, Ohio.

Another weekend completed. Great fun was had by all. New kids racing for the first time. Cub Scouts troops getting their chance to race each other and race some of the pros. Great dinner and fun for the kids after the races on Saturday. Neal and crew buts on another great event.

The 2009-2010 is now complete. The All American Soap Box Derby and NDR Nationals are finished. Everyone is now home.  Summer Robinson finishes ninth in the All American. Brandi Byers, Kelsie Moore and Arryn Evans race in the finals the following week for the NDR Nationals.  Great fun was had by all in Akron Ohio.
